IOC signs exclusive hospitality partnership with On Location
Travellers will have access to a single hospitality provider, which will hold the sole rights to sell packages including tickets, travel and accommodation. The deal will run until 2028.

IOC backs Brazil to host successful Olympic Games
International Olympic Committee Coordination Commission chair Nawal El Moutawakel has backed Brazil and the Brazilians to deliver successful Olympic Games this August. The news comes at the close of the tenth and final IOC Coordination Commission visit to Rio de Janeiro. Her statement came after three days of meetings in the Brazilian host city, which included a venue tour of the Olympic Park and Deodoro sites, a meeting with the three levels of government (federal, state, and city), and presentations by the Rio 2016 Organising Committee on the status of the preparations.
France closes in on Olympic Games host bid
International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach and French president François Hollande met again earlier at The Olympic Museum in Lausanne. On the agenda is a possible French Olympic bid from Paris for the Olympic Games 2024. Paris moved a step closer to bidding for the 2024 Olympic Games earlier this month after the city council adopted a resolution in favour of hosting the Games.
IOC grants provisional recognition to Kosovo Olympic Committee
The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee has granted provisional recognition to the Kosovo Olympic Committee and proposed that the NOC be granted full recognition at the next IOC Session to be held in December in Monaco. The NOC of Kosovo was established in 1992 and has more than 30 affiliated National Federations, 13 of which are Olympic sports federations.
IOC secures Olympic broadcaster in Sub-Saharan Africa
The International Olympic Committee has awarded the broadcast rights in Sub-Saharan Africa to Infront Sports & Media AG for the XXII Olympic Winter Games in 2014 in Sochi, Russia, the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2014 in Nanjing, China. Infront has acquired exclusive broadcast rights on free to air television and non-exclusive internet and mobile broadcast rights.
IOC praises Lillehammer for Olympic preparations
The International Olympic Committee’s Coordination Commission for the Lillehammer 2016 Youth Olympic Games has concluded their second successful visit, impressed with the Organising Committee’s progress on building the foundations for an “unforgettable” event. During two days of informative meetings held in Gjovik, which will host the short track events in 2016, LYOGOC shared with the Commission their ambitious and exciting vision for delivering an event ‘for young people, by young people’ based on their core values: “playful and determined”, “awesome and humble”.
