Garuda Indonesia to connect Indonesia to India for first time
Garuda Indonesia will provide the first direct link between Indonesia and India by operating a new route from Jakarta to the Indian metropolis Mumbai, starting December 12th. The new service will be served through Bangkok three times a week by the airline’s Boeing 738 aircraft with a two-class cabin configuration.
Korean Air welcomes first direct flight to Delhi, India
Korean Air has celebrated its inaugural Delhi-Incheon direct flight with a welcome ceremony at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport. Korean Air’s maiden flight from Incheon to Delhi, KE481, touched down at Indira Gandhi Airport and was welcomed with a water canon event prepared by the airport.
New airlift connects Maldives to New Delhi, India
Travelling to Maldives from Delhi has become even easier. Mega Maldives Airlines has announced its non-stop flights to Male from New Delhi which will start from November 15th, 2016. The brand new Boeing 737 Aircraft, has two seating configuration of 150 Economy and 12 Business class seats.

Etihad and Jet Airways expand UAE-India connections
Etihad Airways is expanding its scheduled services between Abu Dhabi and India as strategic partner Jet Airways unveiled new routes and additional frequencies to further strengthen their partnership. From early 2017, the two airlines will expand their services between the United Arab Emirates and India by adding 28 weekly flights and three further Indian cities.
Korean Air launches new Delhi services
Korean Air is launching nonstop service between Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport and Incheon International Airport beginning December 2016. Delhi will be the second destination for Korean Air following Mumbai in India. The inaugural flight will take place on December 1st, with service aboard an Airbus A330-200 aircraft capable of seating 218.
Ascott signs with Sandhya Hotels for new properties in India
The Ascott has secured a contract with Sandhya Hotels to manage three new serviced residences in India, the world’s third largest economy. Two properties are in the major technology cities of Hyderabad and Bangalore and a third serviced residence is in Sri City, less than an hour’s drive from Chennai.
India celebrates success of e-Tourist Visa scheme in UK
Figures shared today by India Tourism Office London reveal that British travellers have embraced the India e-Tourist Visa since it launched a year ago, accounting for nearly a quarter of all e-visas issued worldwide. British travellers applied for some 197,788 out of the 881,817 e-Tourist Visas last year. Nearly 900,000 e-visas have been issued in the last year and, on the scheme’s first anniversary, the UK represents the strongest market globally.
India to partner with World Travel Market 2016
World Travel Market London 2016 has announced India Tourism as its Premier Partner as it looks to promote the diverse tourism product the country offers. The Indian government has in the last 18 months invested more than $300 million on developing its tourism infrastructure around the country as it aims for more than 13 million visitors a year by 2020.
Low-cost carrier POP seeks to connect UK to India
POP, the new low-cost, long-haul airline in the making, plans to operate non-stop flights from the UK to Amritsar and Ahmedabad in India. Currently flights between the UK and India are predominantly between London Heathrow and just two main destinations, Mumbai and Delhi, and three supporting ones, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
