Hilton pushes digital check-in worldwide
Hilton Worldwide has announced that its pioneering digital check-in and room selection technology is now live across more than 4,100 hotels spanning 11 brands worldwide. This includes more than 119 hotels in UK & Ireland. A first for the hospitality industry, the scale of the digital rollout marks the largest of its kind to date across the sector.
Hilton signs on for new Santa Marta, Colombia, property
Hilton Worldwide has announced the signing of a management agreement with Fideicomiso Santa Marta Hotel to operate a new build Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in the Caribbean port city of Santa Marta, Colombia. Scheduled to open in 2017, this new Hilton Santa Marta hotel represents the company’s 14th hotel project in Colombia including its portfolio of seven existing operating hotels and seven currently under development.
Hilton Worldwide reaches latest China milestone with Changzhou property
Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of Hilton Changzhou, it 50th property in Greater China. The hotel features 299 contemporary guest rooms and suites, offering panoramic views of the entire city from its floor-to-ceiling windows. Hilton Changzhou is operated by Hilton Worldwide and owned by Jiangsu Future Land Real Estate.
Hilton enters Myanmar with Nay Pyi Taw opening
Hilton Worldwide has made its debut in Myanmar with the opening of Hilton Nay Pyi Taw, in the country’s capital city. Set amid lush tropical landscaped gardens, the 202-key Hilton Nay Pyi Taw spans more than 100 acres of land and is situated within the developing Dekhina Thiri Township.

Hilton Worldwide has announced the launch of Canopy by Hilton, a new hotel brand that redefines the lifestyle category around the mindset of today’s leisure and business travellers. Christopher Nassetta, president and chief executive of Hilton Worldwide, unveiled the Canopy by Hilton concept to nearly 1,900 owners and development representatives at Hilton Worldwide’s Global Partnership Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Hilton Worldwide parts with Waldorf Hotel in New York
Hilton Worldwide has confirmed it will see the iconic Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York for $1.95 billion. Chinese insurance first Anbang Insurance Group will take ownership of the property, but the deal will see Hilton continue to operate the hotel on a 100 year lease.
Hilton plans new openings in Africa
Hilton Worldwide is planning to open a further two Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Nigeria, in the city of Owerri, and at Abuja Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
