British Airways overhauls First lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5
A refresh to British Airway’s First lounge at Terminal 5 is making for a more comfortable and relaxing start to flights for some of the airline’s top premium customers. The refurbishment to the airline’s luxurious First lounge, which comfortably seats British Airways’ premium travellers, has brought a new sparkle to eligible First customers and Gold Executive Club members.
Korean Air to bring A380 to Seoul-London route in March
Korean Air has confirmed that after almost five years since it introduced the A380 aircraft to its fleet, the double-decker will come into service on the Seoul Incheon-London Heathrow route. The A380 daily flight will commence with the start of the summer service on March 27th, with the flight leaving Seoul at 13:25 arriving at Heathrow’s terminal four at 17:25.
InterContinental signs dual branded Heathrow Airport property
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the signing of a dual branded hotel development near Heathrow Airport, London. The two hotels Holiday Inn London - Heathrow Bath Road and Staybridge Suites London - Heathrow Bath Road will operate under a franchise agreement with Bathroad Corp Sarl.
Heathrow to bring driverless cars to London roads
Heathrow will be working in collaboration with Westfield Sportscars, and Oxbotica, to develop new automated pods for public trials this summer. Using entirely British engineering and software capabilities, the three companies will develop pods capable of operating fully autonomously and safely on the streets of London, as part of the GATEway driverless car project in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

UK government delays runway decision
The British government has delayed a decision on the potential construction of a new runway in the south-east of England until at least the middle of 2016. Citing concerns over the environmental impact of the development, the department for transport said more work was needed to fully understand the risks.

A report from the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee has advised the British government not to allow the building of a third runway at London Heathrow unless strict environmental criteria can be met. In the latest stage of a long-running debate, the Airports Commission published a report backing a third runway in July.
InterContinental signs on for dual brand Heathrow location
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced an exclusive agreement with Heathrow Airport, to develop two hotels directly connected to London Heathrow Terminal 4. The two adjoining hotels, Crowne Plaza London - Heathrow Terminal 4 and Holiday Inn Express London - Heathrow Terminal 4, are due to open in 2018. The new hotels will operate under a franchise agreement with IHG and will be managed by Arora Hotels, a division of The Arora Group.
Demand continues to rise at London Heathrow
Demand at Heathrow has continued to grow, with traffic up 2.3 per cent to a record 56.9 million passengers. Service quality was also ahead of other European hubs during a record summer, with five separate days where Heathrow welcomed over a quarter of a million passengers per day.

Vietnam Airlines welcomes Boeing Dreamliner to London Heathrow route
Vietnam Airlines has welcomed the inaugural arrival into Heathrow of its first new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The UK hub becomes the first international destination on Vietnam Airlines’ network to be served by the new aircraft. After touching down at 09:18 this morning, aircraft VN-A861 was officially welcomed by Nguyen Van Thao, Vietnamese ambassador to the UK.
