In line with the airline’s efforts to develop and strengthen its flight network, Garuda Indonesia has announced the introduction of new ATR72-600 aircraft into its fleet, starting on November 2013. The signing agreement of the aircraft delivery took place earlier in Jakarta, with Garuda striking a deal with Avions de Transport Regional and the Danish leasing and financing firm, Nordic Aviation Capital.

Garuda Boeing Indonesia introduced “Inflight Connectivity” service on a commercial basis on board all the 777-300ER flights the airline operates, starting on 2 October 2013,. From now on, Garuda Indonesia passengers in the First Class, Executive Class and even Economy Class will be able to access the internet through WiFi throughout the flight.

Indonesia’s national airline, Garuda Indonesia, has appointed Bird Group as its local representative in India to manage its marketing and sales activities, marking the airline’s first step in developing its network in the market. Through the appointment of Bird Group, Garuda Indonesia aims to significantly increase the visibility of its products and service, reinforcing the airline’s commitment and growing confidence in the market.

Garuda Indonesia has confirmed it will postpone the launch of a new service to London. A new flight had been planned to launch on November 2nd, but limited runway capacity at Soekarno-Hatta Airport has forced a change of plan.

Garuda Indonesia is re-introducing a new destination direct from Singapore and adding frequencies in response to strong demand for direct connections to and from Indonesia. Starting July 19th, the Indonesian flag-carrier will be launching a new four times weekly service from Singapore to Surabaya.

As part of its flight network expansion programme, Garuda Indonesia has announced increased services to six new destinations in Europe and the Middle East. The destinations - Frankfurt, Brussels, Milan, Dusseldorf, Munich, and Bahrain – will be served to codeshare partner Etihad Airways.
