Etihad Airways has flown Team England back to the UK from the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. The first of many Team England flights touched down into Heathrow Terminal 4 this morning at 07:30 after flying aboard Etihad’s flagship A380 aircraft from Brisbane via Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways has collaborated with the Abu Dhabi department of health to introduce ‘Weqaya,’ a range of healthy food items, on-board its flights and in its lounges in the emirate.

Etihad Airways and Swiss International Air Lines have launched a new codeshare partnership with bookings effective immediately. Under the agreement, Etihad Airways will have its EY flight code on Swiss services between Geneva and Zurich, two key gateway cities served in Switzerland from Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways has launched the first ever scheduled flights linking Abu Dhabi and Baku. The inaugural flight, EY297, departed Abu Dhabi carrying a special delegation including diplomats, dignitaries, media representatives, and senior members of Etihad Airways’ management team.

Etihad Airways has introduced a new baggage policy tailored to varying customer requirements in the international markets it serves. The changes allow for a simpler baggage structure as the allowance for all markets, excluding the US and Canada, is now based on total weight rather than the number of bags checked in.

Etihad Aviation Group has today confirmed the appointment of Mark Powers as its new group chief financial officer. In his new role, Powers will be responsible for the finance function across the Abu Dhabi-based group’s five divisions, which comprise UAE national airline Etihad Airways, Etihad Airways Engineering, Etihad Airport Services, Hala Group and Airline Equity Partners.
