Emirates Airline has launched a new service which allows passengers to book flights on their mobile phones. Mobile Emirates.com will give Emirates customers the option of booking their flight through their phone’s mobile browser, wherever they are in the world.

Emirates has appointed Sheikh Majid Al Mualla as senior vice president in its commercial operations team after an impressive 12 months as vice president. Al Mualla joined the company in 1996 and has been promoted to senior vice president West Asia & Indian Ocean.

Emirates’ second daily A380 service from Heathrow to Dubai will take off two weeks earlier than planned on 15th June following the early delivery of the airline’s newest ‘superjumbo’.

The Dubai-based Emirates Group has reported a 248 per cent increase in profits for financial 2009-10, despite the global economic slowdown. The group – which comprises Emirates Airline, Dnata and subsidiary companies – also confirmed it is to join the increasingly competitive market offering flights to Baghdad.
