Emirates unveils festive menu ahead of Christmas season
To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, Emirates has ramped up its product offering both on board and on the ground for a superior travel experience. A new Christmas menu has been introduced for the first time across all cabin classes featuring traditional festive meals.
Emirates launches shortest A380 route, to Doha
Emirates has launched the world’s shortest scheduled A380 service, flying a distance of 379 kilometres with a total travel time of one hour and 20 minutes from Dubai to Doha, and one hour ten minutes on the return journey. Outbound flight EK 841 departs Dubai at 07:45, arriving in Doha at 08:05. The return flight, EK 842, departs Doha at 09:50, arriving in Dubai at 12:00.
Emirates launches newly configured Airbus A380
Emirates has begun taking delivery of its new generation Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The first of the new generation A380s was delivered this month as Emirates’ 85th A380. The first of its new generation Boeing 777-300ER aircraft is expected to be delivered later this month and will feature upgraded Business Class seats amongst other features.
Emirates moves to all Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 fleet
In line with its vision to offer a superior passenger experience and improve environmental performance through a modern and state of the art wide-body aircraft fleet, Emirates has retired the last Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft in its fleet from active service. This makes Emirates the first and only airline in the world to operate a fleet of all Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft for its passenger flights.
Emirates brings Airbus A380 to two New Zealand routes
Emirates has introduced its flagship A380 double-decker aircraft on two New Zealand routes. The airline’s step-up in capacity on both its Christchurch service and its non-stop Dubai-Auckland flight means that Emirates now has an all-A380 offering across its five daily New Zealand services. Flight EK448 set off from Dubai on its 16-hour journey to Auckland, signalling the start of daily scheduled A380 services on the non-stop route previously operated by Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, while an Emirates A380 took off en-route to Christchurch as the airline upgraded the route to New Zealand’s main South Island gateway from a Boeing 777-300ER operation.

Emirates to fly A380 to Doha, Qatar from December
Emirates will be upgrading one of its nine daily flights between Dubai and Doha to an Airbus A380 from December. Emirates recently boosted its services to Doha with two additional flights, taking its total operations to nine daily services and making it the most served destination in the airline’s network.
Emirates brings Thales in-flight systems to Boeing 777X fleet
Emirates has announced it has signed an agreement with Thales to equip its Boeing 777X fleet with Thales AVANT in-flight entertainment system. The airline will work in partnership with Thales to develop and enhance the state-of-the-art inflight entertainment and connectivity system to be fitted on its new Boeing 777X aircraft due for delivery starting in mid-2020.
Emirates signs codeshare partnership with GOL
Emirates and GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes have signed a new codeshare and frequent flyer programme partnership. The codeshare partnership has been filed with the Brazilian Federal Aviation Agency (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil), with the first flights expected to be approved in the coming days.
Emirates to launch new Fort Lauderdale route
Emirates has announced it will launch a daily service between Dubai and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, on December 15th, 2016, serving the South Florida area, including Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and West Palm Beach. This will be Emirates’ 11th passenger route in the United States.

Emirates has revealed a teaser clip of its new global advert, featuring Hollywood actress, director and producer Jennifer Aniston. The advert is available to view on the Emirates website or on the Emirates YouTube channel, Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram.
Emirates launches two new A380 services
Emirates has launched two new daily A380 services – to Guangzhou in China and Moscow, Russia. Flight EK362, departed Dubai at 10:20, landed at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on schedule. Arriving a few hours later into Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport was flight EK131.
