This May, Quito will tear down the walls of its museums and turn the whole city into a living stage of art, history and culture. In commemoration of International Museum Day, the Ecuadorian capital is launching an ambitious programme with over 200 activities in more than 60 cultural venues, thus consolidating itself as one of the largest celebrations of heritage in Latin America.

The capital of Ecuador is ready to participate for the tenth time at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), one of the most important events in the global tourism industry, to be held from 22 to 26 January in Madrid, Spain. The most beautiful city in the world will be a co-exhibitor on the Ecuador stand, where the Quito Tourism Board will strengthen the destination’s presence in the European market, to create new business opportunities for the city’s tourism sector.

Quito provides a magical backdrop for proposals, weddings, honeymoons, vow renewals or simply a romantic getaway, with the city’s warm hospitality playing a key role in creating unforgettable experiences. To this end, Quito Turismo is working to position the city as a prime wedding destination, attracting both domestic and international couples. Quito Turismo has been honoured with the World Travel Award for South America’s Leading City Tourist Board 2024. The announcement was made on 1 July, marking the agency’s first win in this prestigious category. Quito Turismo competed against tourist boards from Buenos Aires, Bogota, Medellin, Lima, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Guayaquil, and Cuenca, Quito in its debut nomination.
