Qantas smarts after Hong Kong rejects Jetstar application
Qantas Group has said it will work with its fellow shareholders in Jetstar Hong Kong to review the enterprise, following the Air Transport Licensing Authority’s decision to reject the local carrier’s application to establish an operation in Hong Kong. Jetstar Hong Kong – a joint venture between Shun Tak Holdings, China Eastern Airlines and the Qantas Group – was announced in March 2012.

China Eastern Airlines takes delivery of first Boeing 777-300ER
Boeing and China Eastern Airlines has celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first 777-300ER. The new airplane is the first of 20 777-300ERs China Eastern has on order. “We are delighted to introduce our first 777-300ER in China Eastern’s new look in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the 777-300ER program,” said Liu Shaoyong, chairman of China Eastern Airlines.

China Eastern Airlines places record Boeing order
China Eastern Airlines has placed an order for 80 new Boeing 737 aircraft.The Shanghai-based carrier, which earlier this year agreed to buy 70 new single-aisle aircraft from Airbus, has now sought to balance out its acquisition strategy by placing an order for 80 B737s. The Boeing deal comprises both the standard model and the new fuel-efficient B737 MAX.
