British Airways prepares for Dreamliner launch
With just a week to go until British Airways’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner heads on its inaugural long-haul flight to Toronto, DJ and model Lisa Snowdon has been testing out the comfort on board the near aircraft. The 787 will leave Heathrow on its maiden long-haul flight, the BA093 on September 1st.

Frankfurt welcomes fifth airline operating A380
An Airbus A380 with the blue-red-white tail fin of British Airways landed at Frankfurt airport earlier as the carrier prepares to launch the aircraft into its long-haul route network. It is the first of twelve A380 aircraft to be delivered to the British flag-carrier.
British Airways showcases Dreamliner to Rolls-Royce employees
British Airways has showcased its most technologically advanced aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, to enthusiasts in Derby, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Earlier today more than a thousand Rolls-Royce workers became plane spotters as the 787, fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, flew 1,000 feet over the company’s Derbyshire site, side-by-side with a Spitfire, to thank staff for designing and building the engines.
British Airways flight forced back by technical fault
A British Airways-operated Boeing 747 has been forced to return to London Heathrow Airport after developing a “minor” technical fault. BA0025 had departed Heathrow en route to Hong Kong at 18:20 on Monday with 298 passengers on board before returning at 21:15.
Habana races British Airways A380
South African Rugby player, Bryan Habana, has pushed himself to new heights as he went up against British Airways’ brand new superjumbo, the Airbus A380. Habana, who famously raced the cheetah in 2007 to save them from extinction, took on a new challenge racing British Airways’ ‘new animal’ in a 100 metre race.
A380 pays visit to London Stansted Airport
The world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, touched down at Stansted Airport for the very first time earlier. The new British Airways superjumbo flew into the airport as part of the airline’s flight training programme before the aircraft enters long-haul service later this year.
Upgrade for British Airways frequent flier programme
Bronze members of British Airways’ frequent flier programme can now join the fast track set and take advantage of priority boarding. This means that all Executive Club Bronze members can now board immediately after First, Club World and Club Europe ticket holders, on all British Airways flights.
British Airways reveals A380 South Africa plans
Rugby giants Chris Robshaw, Bryan Habana and Jean De Villiers have undertaken one of the biggest challenges of their careers – taking on the might of British Airways’ largest aircraft, the Airbus A380. Weighing in at 110kg, 95kg and 101kg respectively, Robshaw, the England rugby captain and Habana and De Villiers, the South African Springboks, are pictured attempting to pull the airline’s newest fleet member (topping the scales at 366,000kgs) down the runway at Manston Airport in Kent.
British Airways’ A380 and Red Arrows meet at Air Tattoo
This weekend the public will get the chance to see British Airways’ brand new A380, the world’s largest commercial airline, fly with the Red Arrows at the Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire tomorrow. British Airways’ senior first officer Peter Nye, who was on flight deck for the first A380’s arrival into London on July 4th will be at the controls with captain Charles Everett in command of the aircraft.
Rolls-Royce double delivery for British Airways
Rolls-Royce today powered a double delivery that will transform the future of the British Airways fleet. Trent 900 engines brought the airline’s first Airbus A380 in to land at Heathrow Airport this morning from the Airbus delivery centre in Toulouse.
