Etihad Airways launches first flights to Baku, Azerbaijan
Etihad Airways has launched the first ever scheduled flights linking Abu Dhabi and Baku. The inaugural flight, EY297, departed Abu Dhabi carrying a special delegation including diplomats, dignitaries, media representatives, and senior members of Etihad Airways’ management team.
Dubai Airshow 2017: Azerbaijan Airlines places new Dreamliner order with Boeing
Boeing and Azerbaijan Airlines have announced an order for five more 787-8 Dreamliners and a commitment to purchase two large freighters. The agreement, announced at the 2017 Dubai Air Show, is valued at about $1.9 billion at current list prices.

Etihad Airways has announced plans to launch scheduled flights between Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and Baku, the capital city of the Republic of Azerbaijan, effective March 2018. The new route is being introduced to capitalise on the strong and growing demand for flights between the United Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan.
Boeing delivers first CIS Dreamliner to Azerbaijan Airlines
Boeing and Azerbaijan Airlines today announced the delivery of the airline’s first 787 Dreamliner. With this delivery, Azerbaijan Airlines becomes the first airline in the Commonwealth of Independent States to operate the 787. The airplane will play a key role in the Baku-based airline’s strategic plan to expand its long-haul fleet.
