India has overtaken Britain as the biggest tourism source market to Dubai. The stellar growth of the Indian economy has given to a ten percent rise in its nationals visiting the emirate over the first quarter of the year, according to the latest figures from the Dubai Department of Tourism.
Emaar goes from strength to strength
Dubai-based property developer Emaar, the group behind the world’s tallest tower Burj Khalifa, has registered a net profit of Dhs421m ($115m). The company cited project deliveries in the UAE and international markets for the solid figures. Its flagship Dubai Mall reported a record footfall, whilst Address Hotels recorded an average occupancy of 87 percent.

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has returned to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai for further filming on Mission: Impossible IV – taking his seat on top of the world. Filming is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates following a deal between Paramount and Dubai officials.
