American Airlines welcomes US-Cuba thaw
American Airlines has welcomed the reopening of the US Embassy in Havana and the Cuban Embassy in Washington. “The reopening of the United States and Cuban embassies in Havana and Washington is an important step toward building new commercial relationships and re-establishing scheduled air service between the US and Cuba,” said American chairman Doug Parker.
American Airlines expands Latin America schedule
American Airlines plans to add eight new routes throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America later this year. Expanded service includes new flights to Mexico City International Airport; General Rafael Buelna International Airport in Mazatlan, Mexico; Curacao International Airport; and Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Record first quarter profit for American Airlines
American Airlines Group has reported a first quarter net profit of record $1.2 billion excluding net special charges, a record for the airline. This $1.73 per diluted share and is a tripling of the company’s first quarter 2014 net profit excluding net special credits of $402 million, or $0.54 per diluted share. The company’s first quarter 2015 pre-tax margin excluding net special charges was a record 12.7 per cent, up 8.6 percentage points from the same period last year.

American Airlines has received a single operating certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration for American and US Airways, marking a major milestone in the integration of the two airlines. The news is one step closer to the end for US Airways, with the brand expected to disappear from markets in the next year.
American Airlines brings new Business Class to Manchester Airport
American Airlines flights between Manchester and New York will be operated using newly retrofitted Boeing 767-300ER aircraft from March 29th, offering passengers a refreshed Business Class experience. American Airlines commenced retrofitting its existing Boeing 767-300ER last year, to offer 28 fully lie-flat Business Class seats with aisle access from every seat. Manchester is the first American Airlines destination in the UK to showcase this exceptional new product.
American Airlines reveals first Dreamliner destinations
American Airlines customers will enjoy a new travel experience on the biggest network in the world when American begins domestic service with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner in May and international service in June. The 787 initially will be deployed between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport beginning May 7th, before launching internationally between DFW and Beijing Capital International Airport beginning June 2nd.
American Airlines inks codeshare deal with Korean Air
American Airlines and Korean Air have signed an agreement to begin codesharing. Pending regulatory approval, Korean Air will place its code on American Airlines flights between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea.

American Airlines reports record profit following US Airways merger
American Airlines Group has reported a record GAAP net profit of $597 million for the fourth quarter of financial 2014. This compares to a GAAP net loss of $2 billion in the fourth quarter 2013, which includes the results for US Airways only for the period from the completion of the merger on December 9th, 2013, through December 31st, 2013. For full year 2014, GAAP net profit was $2.9 billion, compared to a full year 2013 GAAP net loss of $1.8 billion for AMR Corporation, which includes the results for US Airways only for the period from the completion of the merger.
American Airlines welcomes first Boeing Dreamliner to fleet
American Airlines has officially welcomes its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. American took delivery of the airplane, a 787-8 with registration number N800AN, on Thursday at Boeing’s factory in Everett, Washington, and it is scheduled to arrive in Dallas/Fort Worth on Friday afternoon. “We are committed to delivering a fantastic product for our customers with the continuation of our unprecedented fleet renewal program and more than $2 billion in improvements in the customer experience,” said Doug Parker, American’s chairman.
American Airlines launches Dallas-Beijing service
American Airlines will begin operating its new daily service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) on May 7, marking the airline’s sixth daily flight to Asia from DFW and the only nonstop flight connecting DFW and Beijing.
