Amadeus taps into mobile technology with Zingle
Amadeus and mobile messaging software company Zingle have signed a new partnership to integrate Zingle messaging technology with Amadeus’ hospitality service optimisation solutions. The deal will allow Amadeus to provide hotels with the mobile texting and messaging technology they need to better service and communicate with guests.

Amadeus is strengthening its UK management team with the recent appointments of Clare de Bono to the role of Head of Product and Innovation for UK and Ireland and Amanda Kotenko as Head of UK Account Management.
Amadeus gains Level 3 New Distribution Capability from IATA
Amadeus has announced that it received Level 3 New Distribution Capability certification as an IT provider from the International Air Transport Association. Level 3 is the highest stage of NDC certification. Airlines using Amadeus’ new Altéa NDC solution developed earlier this year and now IATA certified, will have the option to distribute their prices and fares, including ancillary and fare family content, using NDC Offers & Orders.
Avianca inks deal with Amadeus
Avianca is becoming the launch customer for Amadeus Anytime Merchandising, in order to improve the customer experience through personalised offers and services, while developing a new revenue opportunity for the airline. Amadeus Anytime Merchandising, which is compliant with IATA’s NDC standard, helps airlines engage their customers at decisive moments during their journey, such as the searching and booking phase, when at the airport, during the flight, at the hotel and many more.
Emirates renews full service agreement with Amadeus
Emirates and Amadeus have announced the renewal of their distribution agreement to ensure that the airline’s full inventory of fares and flights is made available to Amadeus-connected travel agencies and travellers worldwide. The agreement means that Emirates content is made available to the world’s largest network of travel sellers, and Emirates’ customers can continue to search and shop for all Emirates products and services through the channel of their choosing.
Amadeus inks ancillary services deal with Flybe
Amadeus Airline Ancillary Services has now been implemented for Flybe. By making it possible to add chargeable bags through the Amadeus distribution channel, Flybe enables travel agents to better serve their customers’ needs, as they book the additional services requested for their flights – all within an efficient and automated booking flow.
Amadeus: Luxury travel set for global boom
Global consumers are increasingly spending their disposable income on experiences rather than material goods. Consumers’ desire for life experiences is spurring a growth in luxury travel that is outpacing the rest of the travel industry, finds a new Amadeus report featuring data from Tourism Economics. Between 2011 and 2015, luxury travel, in terms of outbound flights on business or first class, saw a 4.5 per cent compound annual growth rate, versus 4.2 per cent for overall travel.

Amadeus reveals strong performance in first quarter
Amadeus IT Holding has reported adjusted profit for the three months to March 31st grew 17 per cent, to €245.6 million. This was supported by a revenue increase of 13.2 per cent, to €1,120 million, and EBITDA growth of 15.2 per cent, to €448.8 million. Free cash-flow generation at the leading technology partner for the global travel industry expanded 17.9 per cent in the quarter, in the context of a robust capital structure, with leverage at 1.43x EBITDA.
Expedia and Amadeus extend global partnership
Expedia and Amadeus IT Group have announced a new global, long-term agreement. The agreement enables Expedia to offer air, car, rail, cruise, and hotel products through the Amadeus global distribution system, and adds Orbitz Worldwide brands in addition to the Expedia, Hotwire, Travelocity, Wotif Group, Expedia Affiliate Network and Egencia brands covered by the previous agreement.
