Air Algérie, the national airline of Algeria, has signed a firm order for seven widebody aircraft to support its commercial development.

French president Francois Hollande has said there are no survivors from the Air Algerie AH5017 passenger jet crash. The plane came down travelling from Burkina Faso to Algiers, when it came down in Mali yesterday.

An Air Algerie flight with 116 people on board is believed to have crashed in Mali after disappearing from radar earlier today. Travelling from Burkina Faso to Algiers, the national airline of Algeria said contact was lost about 50 minutes after take-off from Ouagadougou.
Air Algerie signs Boeing 737-800 deal
Boeing and Air Algerie have announced a commitment for eight Next-Generation 737-800 airplanes. When finalised, the order will be worth $724 million at list prices and will be posted to the Boeing Orders & Deliveries website.
Boeing Delivers 50th Airplane to Air Algerie
Boeing has reached a major milestone with long-time customer Air Algerie, delivering the 50th jetliner – a Next-Generation 737-800 – to the North African carrier. The 737 was the fourth of seven ordered in 2009. This delivery also marked the 40-year partnership between Boeing and Air Algerie.
