Etihad Airways to welcome ABTA Travel Convention to Abu Dhabi
ABTA – The Travel Association, has revealed that Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and its national airline Etihad Airways, will host the association’s Travel Convention in 2016. The convention will take place from October 10th-12th, 2016, at the Yas Viceroy Hotel on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s hub of leisure, sports and retail activities.
UK travellers warned over fake Turkish visas
ABTA, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Get Safe Online are warning travellers to Turkey to only obtain e-visas from the official Republic of Turkey website. The warning is being issued after up to a hundred UK holidaymakers purchased fake e-visas which were only discovered on arrival in Turkey.

ABTA, The City of London Police and Get Safe Online have re-joined forces to warn the general public about the dangers posed by holiday booking fraud. Findings from a new report compiled by the City of London Police reveal the scale of reported crime and expose common tactics used by fraudsters who stole an estimated £2.2million from unsuspecting holidaymakers and other travellers in 2014.

As peak booking season gets into full swing, ABTA is urging its Members to make full use of its comprehensive industry guidance on accessible travel in order that they give disabled and less mobile passengers optimum customer service.
ABTA welcomes new members in late 2014
ABTA welcomed 13 new Members into the Association between October and December 2014, one trading as a retailer, eight as principals and four as dual Members.
