Peru honoured by World Travel Awards voters
The South American tourism hotspot of Peru has been honoured with a number of trophies at the World Travel Awards.
The destination took home the titles of South America’s Leading Culinary Destination and South America’s Leading Cultural Destination during the recent winners day, while the Incan citadel of Machu Picchu was honoured with South America’s Leading Tourist Attraction.
PromPeru itself took home the prize for South America’s Leading Tourist Board.
Amora Carbaja, commissioner general for the Peru pavilion, was on hand to accept the trophies from World Travel Awards founder, Graham Cooke, and World Travel Awards vice president, Christopher Frost, during a special ceremony at Expo 2020 in Dubai.
