Ali Hamad Lakhraim Alzaabi takes Outstanding Services to Tourism title at World Travel Awards

With an extensive and highly successful business career, Ali Hamad Lakhraim Alzaabi has been presented the title of Middle East’s Leading Personality - For Outstanding Services to Tourism at the World Travel Awards.

A special presentation was hosted by World Travel Awards at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach in Dubai during Middle Eastern celebrations.

Mr Alzaabi is the chairman and founder of the Lakhraim Business Group, a dynamic and highly respected group of companies with investments and ventures in various market segments across the Middle East & Africa.

LBG has already grown significantly since its inception and now holds a diverse range of interests across hospitality, food and beverage operations, investments in service-related businesses and real estate. 

As founder, president and chief executive of Millennium & Copthorne, Middle East & Africa, Mr Alzaabi has created one of the region’s fastest-growing hotel groups with 21 operating properties and over 30 properties in the pipeline.

Mr Alzaabi’s involvement in the MEA hospitality sector extends beyond Millennium & Copthorne, with a number of investment companies operating across a spectrum of market segments and holding assets worth more than US $3billion. 

He is also recognised for the successful introduction of Compass Group, the global leader of contract food and support service, into the MEA market.
Since its introduction in 2000, the MEA Company has grown to become the largest contract catering provider in the region.

He is regarded as a Pioneer in the World’s 100 Most Powerful Arabs by Arabian Business and is also ranked number eight n the Hotelier Middle East list of most powerful hoteliers.

Alzaabi’s philanthropic endeavours include the development of Hamad Centre for Special Needs in Abu Dhabi, a not for profit organisation dedicated to helping children with Autism.

He is also Sponsor of the Ali Alzaabi Young Business Leaders Scholarship Fund at American University of Sharjah.
