Wizz Air will begin direct service from London’s Gatwick Airport to Bucharest from June 18th.

The new Gatwick connection to Bucharest will be the only direct connection between the two airports, offering the easiest access to the Romanian capital from the south London hub.

With a total of four Wizz Air direct flights a day between London and Bucharest, the new Gatwick route adds a second option for travel from London along with Wizz Air’s direct three-times-a-day flights between Bucharest and London Luton in north London.

Gatwick, a new airport for Wizz Air’s low-fares services, will be the company’s ninth airport in the United Kingdom along with London Luton, Doncaster-Sheffield, Bristol, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Belfast, Liverpool and Birmingham.

Wizz Air continues to contribute to economic development throughout the UK, moving more than five million people through regional airports in 2015, supporting almost 3,750 local jobs in business, leisure and travel industries around the company’s destination airports.

Since starting operations in 2004, Wizz Air has carried nearly 30 million passengers through UK airports.

Wizz Air operates a fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft with an average age of four years old.
