Viceroy Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Bill Walshe as its new chief executive.

Previously with the Dublin based international luxury hotel group The Doyle Collection, Walshe was selected following a comprehensive search process by the board of directors.

A 20-year veteran of the luxury hospitality industry, Walshe assumes his new role at a time of tremendous growth for the company.

In the year to date, Viceroy Hotel Group has added three new properties in the Maldives, New York City and San Francisco, and recently announced the opening of Viceroy Istanbul in 2013 and Viceroy Bodrum in 2014, for a total of eighteen hotels under management by the group worldwide.

Walshe provides Viceroy with a truly global perspective, as he brings extensive senior management experience with leading international hospitality companies, including Jumeirah Group, The Doyle Collection, and Kempinski Hotels & Resorts.

As the chief of The Doyle Collection, Walshe led the brand through its reinvention into a modern luxury urban hotel group that includes eleven hotels in the USA and Europe.

Prior to The Doyle Collection, Walshe served as chief marketing officer for Dubai based Jumeirah Group at a time of tremendous growth for the international luxury hospitality group.
“Bill steps into this role at an exciting time of accelerating growth for Viceroy,” said Carlos Obeid, chairman of Viceroy Hotel Group’s board of directors.

“Given our 2012 openings in New York, San Francisco and the Maldives, and our upcoming openings of Viceroy Istanbul and Viceroy Bodrum, Bill’s international experience and recognition as a leader within the industry will enable him to lead the continued growth and development of Viceroy Hotel Group as we expand our global foot print with new destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.”
