von Essen hotels is delighted to announce the launch, on 11 October 2010, of The Spa at The Mount Somerset, the third of five spas to be completed this year following an extensive multi-million pound investment across the collection to enhance von Essen hotels’ luxury lifestyle offering.

This opening will mark the final phase of a comprehensive refurbishment of the hotel, the first ever property in the von Essen collection, acquired in 1994.

The brand new spa, set in the stunning grounds of the hotel and designed as a traditional bathhouse, will provide an exclusive and intimate haven, guaranteeing the perfect therapy to well being.

Spa facilities include state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool, thermal suite with sauna and steam room, relaxing foot spas, experience showers, beautifully appointed treatment rooms offering first class, bespoke [ comfort zone ] treatments, fitness suite with Technogym equipment, stunning spa terrace and a retail area.

The interiors in the spa have been designed to reflect and complement the natural landscape and surroundings of the hotel. Blues and greens have been incorporated for example, in reference to The Mount’s iconic peacocks.

The treatment menu has also strived to merge aspects of the tranquility and beauty of the hotels’ gardens and environment. The highly skilled therapists have worked with [ comfort zone ] to develop two completely exclusive signature treatments that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world. The [ comfort zone ] peaceful earth facial and body cocoon are for peace of mind and joy of skin using only natural products.

The Spa at Mount Somerset will be offering residential packages as well as full and half-day packages and annual membership for local residents.

A comprehensive refurbishment of all public areas and guest rooms, as well as the addition of a brand new hotel wing accommodating eight new luxurious deluxe double bedrooms and bringing the total number of guestrooms to 19, were completed in August of this year. Together with the spa launch in October, this refurbishment marks an exciting new beginning for The Mount Somerset, where the von Essen story began…
