Virgin Trains East Coast outlines service upgrades

As Virgin Trains East Coast soon approaches the 100th day of business, the long distance rail operator has revealed that it will offer a range of new initiatives.

These include increased flexibility for business travellers, an improved service and more personalised travel experience over the next eight years.

Customer benefits to be introduced by Virgin Trains East Coast include faster journey times, with regular services to Leeds in two hours and Edinburgh in four hours.

Virgin will also introduce new trains, with 65 new ‘Super Express’ trains coming into service from 2018.

More flexible will also be integrated into the reservation system, allowing reservations to be made closer to departure to better suit customers who make last minute travel arrangements

As Virgin Trains East Coast is part of the Virgin family, customers can earn Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles too.

Virgin Trains East Coast expects to transport over 20 million customers this year, with around half travelling on business.
