VIA Rail’s NEW Canadian makes an unforgettable trip better

VIA Rail’s NEW Canadian makes an unforgettable trip better

VIA Rail Canada’s legendary Canadian, linking Toronto and Vancouver, has undergone a transformation that will make the train journey across the country an indelible experience.

By the summer of 2012, more than $22 million (CDN) will have been invested to ensure that passengers on the Canadian experience more of a good thing - more comfort, more space, and spectacular views. The all-new design - including new carpets, new colours, warm woods - is an investment in modernization that can only serve to enhance VIA’s long-standing reputation for service.

From Canada’s largest city to the Pacific Coast, from the boreal forests of northern Ontario to the majestic Rockies, there is no more memorable journey than to cross the country by train on VIA Rail’s Canadian, now with the addition of world class luxurious amenities.

New Deluxe Sleeper Class

Starting this mid-October, tickets go on sale for VIA’s new Deluxe Sleeper Class for those wanting more comfort and space. The new and larger cabins offer a boutique hotel ambience and an abundance of the little extras found on the most luxurious trains in the world.

Available exclusively in the summer season, the newly-reconfigured cabins in Deluxe Sleeper Class are 50% more spacious.  These luxurious quarters feature private glassed-in showers and flat screen TVs, in addition to a dedicated service attendant, turn-down service, all day room service (breakfast, morning and afternoon tea), priority luggage service, priority boarding, and much more.

Dining on board

Newly-refurbished dining cars are only part of the pleasure of dining on board the Canadian. Elegant settings of linen and china augment the enjoyment of meals freshly prepared on board by a skilled VIA chef. Fresh is the key.  Produce is brought on board along the way so diners may savour regional specialties made all the better by an attentive staff and the rolling landscape.

Canada in motion

This fall, the kaleidoscopic vistas will be even more exquisite with the panoramic view offered by VIA’s newly renovated Skyline and Park cars. And on board its renovated Park cars, VIA Rail will now offer an entirely wheelchair-accessible cabin with private washroom.
