Tom Cruise thanks Dubai for Mission Impossible hospitality

Tom Cruise has thanked the emirate of Dubai for its hospitality during the filming of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Cruise has been resident for much of the past few months, with the American actor offering thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammad on his blog.

“Dubai is an exceptionally beautiful and very family friendly location,” he added.

“My family and I spent our evenings at the water park, go-karting, indoor skiing, shopping, scuba diving, camel riding, desert dune bashing, and we still didn’t fit in all that there is to enjoy!”

Cruise shot scenes for the forthcoming blockbuster in many locations around the country including filming scenes in IMAX on the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

“The warmth, hospitality and generosity of spirit extended to all of us by His Highness and the people of Dubai will long be remembered and appreciated,” continued Cruise.

“We could not have accomplished all that we needed to get done without the hard work and dedication of our Dubai crews.”

Famous around the world, Burj Khalifa is operated by Emaar which was recognised as the Middle East’s Leading Tourism Property Development Company by the World Travel Awards earlier this year

World Mobi

Also in the Middle East today, World Mobi launched its new city guide to Dubai.

World Mobi offers the most comprehensive mobile travel guides available, with over 800 cities in 200 countries listed. Each is developed by the World Mobi team to combine into a single global travel directory.

However, each city retains its own mobile identity via a dedicated domain. Already on offer are Brussels.Mobi, London.Mobi, Sanfrancisco.Mobi and Sydney.Mobi.

Atlanta.Mobi is the latest in this illustrious line up, offering click to call functionality – which means no scribbling down telephone numbers.

Most entries are also linked to websites where users can quickly access more detailed information if needed.

World.Mobi guides include user reviews and traveller utilities such as a translation guide, currency converter, news and local weather guide.
