Swimtrek 60k Swim Is Expanding the Free Global Swimming Event Which Fundraises for the Environment
SwimTrek is thrilled to announce the launch of its 5th annual, virtual 60k swim event. The event runs throughout the month of November, with hundreds of participants from all over the world taking part.
What makes the event unique is that people can participate from anywhere in the world for free. Participants can swim as a team or in some cases individually, to collectively complete a distance of 60 kilometres, all while raising awareness and funds for ocean conservation.
In partnership with 1% for the Planet, SwimTrek is committed to donating $5 (USD) to SeaTrees for each participant registered. This year’s aim is for 1000 people to take part and raise $5,000 (USD) and plant 5000 SeaTrees. This initiative not only encourages swimming enthusiasts to stay active wherever they are in the world but also contributes to restoring vital marine ecosystems.
“It started as a fun way to keep the SwimTrek community swimming when they couldn’t be together. The obvious next step is to encourage more people to take part, fundraise and donate to the causes that help the environment” said Ash Van Wensveen, Managing Director at SwimTrek. “We want to remove any financial and geographical barriers and bring together a global community, all while making a tangible difference for our oceans. This year, our goal is not just to swim but to create a ripple effect that leads to contributing to environmental change.”
SwimTrek is asking for their partners that share its commitment to swimming and sustainability, to be involved. Together, they aim to inspire swimmers worldwide to participate and contribute to a healthier ocean.
Participants can register for the SwimTrek 60k and track their progress throughout November. Swimmers can complete their distances in any setting, be it a pool, lakes, rivers, or oceans, encouraging both seasoned athletes and casual swimmers to take part.
