Landmarc Leisure Corporation Limited opens Svastii Wellness Academy, Mumbai’s First World Class Wellness Academy in Andheri. Owing to increased awareness in the field of scientific beauty therapy, holistic health and wellbeing, greater interest towards self improvement and in general a more liberalized environment, the spa industry in India is growing at a rapid pace.

“According to FICCI, the Indian spa industry needs over 20,000 new professionals very year and offers very good earning opportunities for well-trained professionals”, said Paulomi Dhawan, Managing Director, Landmarc Leisure Corporation Limited which has set up Svastii Wellness Academy Mumbai’s first world class wellness academy.  “There is also a great demand for well-trained and experienced Indian professionals in the global hospitality and spa industry”, she added.

The courses at Svastii Wellness Academy are aimed at both the freshers and experienced professionals to enhance their skills. They have been divided into three distinct categories namely The School of Wellness, which cater to courses related to Yoga, Beauty Treatment and Ayurvedic Therapies, Dietary Concepts and Ayurvedic Diagnostic Concepts; The School of Beauty and Grooming, providing all treatments that could possibly fall into this category from Hairdressing, styling to nail art, and finally The School of Spa, Holistic, Eastern & Chinese Therapies which like the name suggests includes Certificates in spa related courses, Holistic, Eastern and Chinese therapies.

The Svastii Wellness Academy is all set to roll with the first set of courses beginning on February 14, 2011 and applications are invited. With entry level courses starting at Rs. 10,000, Svastii aims at providing additional in-depth training to students who have a keen interest in this area.

Svastii Wellness Academy is an extension of Landmarc’s foray into the wellness sector after the establishment of Svastii Spa and Salon in Powai last year. The idea is not just to teach and develop the skills of the individual, but also develop the personality in its entirety.
