Starhotels, has appointed PRCo to promote Collezione in UK

The hotels in the Collezione, each a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, are located in the heart of New York, Paris, Milan, Trieste and Venice.  Each with a distinct charm, they embody the local culture, whilst sharing the Italian spirit, creativity, passion and high level of service that encapsulates the whole group.

Family values are central to Starhotels, the 22 hotel strong group, founded by Ferruccio Fabri in 1980.  His daughter, Elisabetta, with her cosmopolitan vision, managerial flair and determination, took over in 2000 and has since taken the group from strength to strength.

Michelangelo, New York
The Michelangelo is a beautifully refurbished hotel in the historic Taft Building, which dates back to 1926.  Conveniently located at the corner of 51st Street and Seventh Avenue, this oasis of calm is an easy stroll from the buzz and bright lights of Times Square.  Echoing the indulgent style of a grand Italian residence, the hotel’s 179 rooms and suites, with their rich velvets, silk wallpaper, sumptuous marble floors and original bronze detailing are among the largest in the city, whilst its 28 residences are the ideal solution for longer stays.  With 2,200 square feet of elegant yet flexible meetings space, The Michelangelo is suitable for both social and business gatherings.

Castille, Paris
Castille Paris, a boutique hotel in the 1st Arrondissement, was the grand residence and gardens of General Marechal du Luxembourg in the 18th Century.  Centrally located between Place de la Concorde and Place Vendôme in the heart of the city, the recently refurbished Castille Paris combines the best in elegant French and Italian styles and hospitality.  The 108 rooms, including 21 suites, are exquisite and refined in their design and are spread over two wings, The Rivoli and Opera Wings.  In the L’Assaggio Restaurant, the essence of Italy is ever-present from the Florentine furniture and artworks, providing the backdrop for fine Italian fare, to the new interior court, open throughout spring and summer, with its Roman fountain and stunning frescoes.  There is also space for up to 70 people for both business and social functions in the hotel’s conference rooms, fitted with state-of-the-art technology and inspired by traditional turn-of-the-century decor.

Rosa Grand, Milan
The Rosa Grand is the group’s flagship hotel, located in the heart of Milan’s historical district, steps away from the Duomo and Teatro La Scala.  The hotel has 327 rooms and suites and a new wing, opening onto Piazza Fontana, was added in 2009.  The hotel, which revolves around an internal courtyard, celebrates an evocative tableau of Italian design, with tones of gold and rose pink throughout.  It is also home to three exquisite restaurants and bars, as well as the Milan conference centre, housing eight stunning function rooms.  With a total capacity for 734 people, the Rosa Grand’s central location and multi-functional spaces make it the hotel for business events in the city.

Savoia Excelsior Palace, Trieste
Savoia Excelsior Palace was described at its first opening exactly 100 years ago as ‘the most luxurious hotel in Austria-Hungary’.  A two-year renovation of this Belle Époque hotel, which has 142 rooms including 18 suites, was completed in 2009, restoring the magnificent Ladislaus Fiedler architecture and fin-de-siècle frescoes and furniture to their former glory.  The hotel is spectacularly situated on Trieste’s waterfront with breathtaking views over the Adriatic, whilst being centrally located at the very heart of this bustling and fascinating port city.  The Savoy Restaurant serves up Triestine favourites, and there are nine function rooms for up to 650 people.

Splendid Venice, Venice
Housed in a sixteenth-century inn overlooking romantic bridges and old Venetian palazzos, the Splendid Venice was fully renovated in 2007 and is now the only hotel in this magical floating city to merge contemporary design with the historic surroundings.  Ideally situated between the key landmarks of St. Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge, guests can reach the hotel’s own private dock by gondola or water taxi.  The hotel’s interiors make use of subtle colour combinations and rich fabrics to create a warm, welcoming and stylish ambiance.  The Splendid Venice is centred on the Campiello, a typical Venetian courtyard, whilst the rooftop is the perfect spot for soaking up the romanticism that permeates the city.  Le Maschere Restaurant serves traditional Venetian fare in an intimate and sophisticated setting, and there is also meeting space for up to 45 people.
