Six injured in Spanish hotel explosion
Six people were seriously injured in an explosion at a hotel on Spanish Canary island of Gran Canaria.
The explosion at the Hotel Cordial Mogán Playa, in the south east of the island, is thought to have been caused by gas.
According to reports, five of the six people who were seriously injured are thought to be Spaniards working at the hotel. While a 55 year old Norwegian guest was also badly burned.
In addition to the six seriously injured, 17 people were being treated for anxiety and a psychologist was called in to assist those who were traumatised.
The blast is thought to have occurred as a truck delivered propane to the hotel. The spa area of the hotel was mainly affected with a collapsed ceiling.

Nearly 1,000 guests were evacuated from the property.
