Says Alan Vels - MD Signature Life Hospitality ” paying lip service to our previously disadvantaged youth in terms of job training and placement is no longer good enough. In line with the MEC Mike Mabuyukulas’ vision for the Province, we should train first , transfer skills to a large sector of the pdi groups then find jobs”. Signature Life Institute of Hospitality trained 247 students last year of which 227 have been placed in several of the Hotels we manage, a number are employed at Hotel64 on Gordon, a Signature Life operated property.

This training scheme which was a partnership between government and the private sector has proved to one of the most successful to date as these newly skilled youth have an open platform in the hospitality industry which has so many opportunities in this country in terms of job creation. More corporates should follow this lead as it is only though getting our youth to work, that many of our economic the woes in the province and the whole of the country will be alleviated.”
