The Royal Borough of Greenwich is set to welcome a spectacular flotilla of Tall Ships as Sail Royal Greenwich returns for a second season.

Running from August 28 until September 1, this stunning fleet of Tall Ships will sail the Thames and offer visitors unforgettable views of iconic maritime Greenwich. The Royal Borough is delighted to welcome the Tall Ships back for another year after the success of the first festival, hosted during last summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Passengers will pass some of the very best sights the Royal Borough has to offer including the Old Royal Naval College, the Queen’s House, the Royal Observatory, the Thames Barrier, The O2, the Meridian Line and The Cutty Sark.

Cllr Chris Roberts, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich said: “I’m delighted that the Royal Borough will be playing host to such a spectacular fleet again. The inaugural Sail Royal Greenwich event showed how successfully Woolwich can host a large scale cultural event. Our aim is that Sail Royal Greenwich becomes a regular fixture on our event calendar, attracting a growing number of visitors, both domestic and international.

Our riverfront, the longest of all the London boroughs, is currently undergoing a thrilling renaissance and we’re fully focussed on promoting the Thames as one of our main assets - encouraging new attractions and maritime activities all along it”.
