Royal Caribbean appoints travel expert

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has appointed a new National Accounts Manager to head up its trade relationships with major distribution partners TUI, CTTG and Hays Travel. Lindsay Dixon joins the business in late August 2009 and will report to the newly appointed Head of National Accounts, Nicky Tempest-Mitchell.

Dixon joins the nine-strong Royal Caribbean Cruise Line national accounts team, working alongside the field sales teams dedicated to Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises. Working with agents throughout the UK and Ireland Royal Caribbean Cruise Line now has 21 people across its specialist brand-dedicated and national accounts sales teams.

Dixon was formerly Head of Sales for the First Choice FlexiTravel and Thomson Cities TUI UK brands and Head of Sales for Island Cruises. She has a 16 year heritage in the travel industry and brings significant experience of working with the travel trade to the business. Past sales roles include those for First Choice Holidays, Stena Line and Sunworld Holidays. Dixon has also worked as an overseas holiday representative for Cosmos and Horizon Holidays.

 

In the National Accounts Manager role, Dixon will be responsible for managing the relationship between Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises and major trade distribution partners. This includes being charged with identifying and delivering growth, developing sales and marketing plans for each main partner, and enhancing mutually beneficial commercial relationships. Dixon will work alongside Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s commercial planning team which supports the sales teams with bespoke business development plans for each trade partner.

 

 

In 2010 Royal Caribbean Cruise Line will have its largest ever fleet dedicated to the British and Irish market, including a ship based year round from Southampton for the first time. From April 2010 Royal Caribbean International’s Independence of the Seas and Celebrity Cruises brand new, Celebrity Eclipse will be based in the UK, with Independence of the Seas sailing year round from the port.
