Rosa Khutor welcomes 800,000 tourists during winter 2017

Rosa Khutor ski resort, located in Sochi, Russia, received over 800,000 tourists during the winter season 2017.

The figure makes the resort the most visited in Russia.

The winter season this year was important for the resort, with three new lifts starting operations at the Rosa Khutor.

Some 17 kilometres of ski trials also opened, most of which are located on the southern slope of the resort.

As a result, the total ski area of Rosa Khutor exceeded 94 kilometres of trails.

This is the largest ski area in Russia’s ski resorts.

The development of hotel infrastructure at the resort has also continued this year.

Three new hotels opened on the territory of Mountain Olympic Village, situated at 1,100 metres above sea level, all of which have an easy access to ski slopes.

Rosa Khutor is also considered an industry leader in ski tourism, having been recognised as Russia’s Best Ski Resort by the World Ski Awards for the past four years.
