Record number of Brits visit Jordan

The Jordan Tourist Board has announced a growth of 20 per cent in UK visitor numbers in August 2013 – a record number of visitors for that month.

Jordan welcomed 5,707 UK tourists to the country in August 2013, compared to 4,754 the previous year.

Stephen Hurp, Jordan Tourism Board country manager for UK & Ireland, said: “We are very pleased to report this growth in visitor numbers for August and are delighted that the UK is continuing to show confidence in travelling to Jordan, which is a real testament to its stability as a destination.

“With numerous direct flight options from the UK with Royal Jordanian, British Airways and Easyjet, as well as a fascinating mixture of ancient landscapes, rich history and epic landscapes to explore, we hope that the UK travelling public continue to choose Jordan for their next adventure.”
