QUITO PRESENTED ITS DIVERSE TOURISM OFFER AT THE ITB INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION IN BERLIN 2025
Quito Tourism participated in ITB Berlin 2025 with the aim of strengthening the position of its city as a competitive destination in the global market. The convention took place from 4 to 6 March at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, where the main associates involved in the global tourism industry gathered to establish strategic partnerships with each other and develop new business opportunities
Having Quito at ITB Berlin helped to pitch its tourism offer and promote it among various sectors, such as nature, ecotourism, adventure, culture, food, business, well-being, shopping, and scientific tourism. By interacting with tourism agencies, the media, and other associates within the industry, Quito aimed to expand its presence in the German and European market.
One of the highlights that arose from Quito Tourism’s participation in ITB Berlin 2025 was a disruptive activation, carried out at a strategic point of the city, designed to capture the public’s attention and spark interest in Quito as a tourism destination. This action offered a unique experience, allowing travellers to discover the most appealing aspects of the Ecuadorian capital.
What’s more, Quito Tourism promoted its hotel offer with Zero Carbon Footprint, in line with the recognition given to the Provincial Tourism Board in Pichincha (CAPTUR) by ASICOTUR. These hotels were part of the award-winning
Decarbonisation Project carried out in the Hotel Sector and introduced ways to improve power generation, waste management, efficient water use, and community relationships. Additionally, these hotels maintained a process of measuring their carbon footprint, with plans for improvement, mitigation, reduction, and offsetting of emissions to achieve carbon neutrality.
Quito Tourism, as an official organisation for tourism development and promotion, carried out a strategic agenda at ITB Berlin 2025 designed to strengthen public relations and convey key messages about sustainability and the city’s tourism potential. Having a public company take part in international conventions was an ideal opportunity for Quito to develop new business opportunities by placing the city at the forefront of international tourism.
