Quito positions itself as the ideal destination for combining business and pleasure

Quito’s landscape, defined by the majestic Andes mountains, the magical Chocó Cloud Forest, the jewels of the colonial era and its extraordinary gastronomy, together with its wide range of convention centres, hotels, universities, museums, parks and even botanical gardens in the city centre, make the city the ideal destination for business tourism.

The Capital of the Middle of the World boasts extensive capacity for hosting MICE meetings, including 75 heritage sites such as churches, museums, chapels, monasteries and squares; 13 haciendas located in rural areas; 14 city parks with more than 200 hectares of green areas; and 16 function rooms in four and five star hotels.
Quito has modern facilities for holding events and business meetings. The Metropolitan Convention Centre in Quito is one of the largest and best equipped convention centres in South America, with capacity for up to 4,500 people in its 16 function rooms and exhibition spaces.
The city also offers a wide range of hotels, from small boutique hotels to large international chains, to suit all needs and budgets.

In total, Quito has more than 10,000 hotel rooms, with a wide range of services and amenities. Furthermore, most facilities are located in strategic areas that make it easy to get around and make the most of your time in the capital.

Quito’s public transport system is another reason why the Ecuadorian capital is a top destination for MICE events. The metro network comprises 18 trains, 15 stations and an average capacity of one thousand people per journey, allowing you to get from the north to the south of the city in just 34 minutes.

To raise awareness of the city’s potential as a MICE destination, two international events have been organised together with key partners in the region: the Fiexpo Workshop and Technical Visit (2022) and the Fiexpo Experience Luxury Summit (2023).

In this regard, Quito Turismo continues to work on a strategy that seeks to position the city as the ideal destination for conferences, fairs, conventions, concerts, sporting events and other activities.
