Leading ski holiday specialist Powder White have announced the launch of a new optimised version of their website to allow ski enthusiasts to search for ski accommodation in the Alps with ease from their internet-enabled mobile phones or tablet device.

Designed with simplicity, use-ability and speed in mind, the mobile-optimised site includes features that allow users to see special offers, browse chalets, ski apartments and hotels by resort, check prices, and view galleries of images of each ski property.

This launch is in response to a sharp rise in the number of visitors to Powder White’s website from internet-enabled devices such as iPhones and tablets in recent years. To answer this industry-wide, technology-driven change in the way people explore and shop for their holidays, Powder White – always a ski industry leader, innovator and one of the first online specialists when the company launched in 2003 – has developed this mobile-optimised site to cater to busy ski enthusiasts shopping for their next ski holiday while on the go.

Powder White’s Bippon Kalia commented, ‘We wanted to deliver a useful experience, so we created the mobile site to meet the needs of smart phone users.’ He added, ‘As there are a multitude of devices on the market now, we also tweaked the main site so that tablet users have a rich user experience also.’

Powder White specialises in ‘unpackaging the package’ ski holiday. The London-based company offers accommodation in three segments of the market: chalets in the Big Five’ ski resorts of Courchevel, Verbier, Val d’Isere, Meribel and St Anton; and hotels and apartments in other Alpine towns such as Les Arcs, Les Menuires, Tignes and Val Thorens.

Flights and transfers aren’t included in Powder White prices visible on the mobile-optimised site to offer maximum flexibility to guests but the company has an ATOL license and can arrange international travel (planes, trains and automobiles) and private transfers to suit every budget.
