Portman Travel applauds BTM 2011

Portman Travel, one of the UK’s foremost travel management companies, announces the success of its partnership with this year’s Business Travel Market (BTM).  Organisers of this key event have seen BTM, now in its third year, go from strength to strength attracting VIP Hosted Buyers from across Europe.

Their increasing growth led to BTM selecting market leading Portman Travel as the first Official Travel Management Company (TMC) for the show to ensure efficient and effective management of the VIP Hosted Buyers’ travel and accommodation.  The 2011 partnership was deemed a major success with Portman Travel showcasing their operational excellence whilst making considerable resource savings for BTM organisers.

In addition, Portman Travel exhibited at the show, meeting with travel buyers and strengthening, maintaining and establishing relationships with key suppliers.

Portman Travel also took the opportunity of having the business travel community in one place to launch its latest customer-facing tool - the Portman Trip Planner (PTP). Introduced in conjunction with travel technology software partner, truvle, this revolutionary itinerary tool was demonstrated at the company’s stand and enthusiastically received. Working across any mobile device or platform with an internet connection, PTP empowers travellers by saving them time and giving them access to key information whenever and wherever they need it.

The 300 plus VIP Hosted Travel Buyers attending BTM this year also proved the perfect audience for the promotion of Portman’s exclusive partnership with financial solutions business, FairFX, announced just days before BTM.  The collaboration means that Portman Travel can offer their business travel clients the use of the FairFX prepaid debit card, which gives easy access to foreign currency when travelling abroad, or in the UK. The card provides a simple all-in-one solution to common expense problems experienced by the business traveller and is great news for the corporate travel buyer.

I anticipate that a partnership next year will be even stronger.”
