Pan Pacific Whistler debuts the ‘Purpose Trees’ program this holiday season

Pan Pacific Whistler is elevating holiday giving this season by debuting its sparkling ‘Purpose Trees’, inspiring guests and visitors to give the gift of kindness and make a donation to the hotel’s three partner charities: Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Whistler Animals Galore Society and Whistler Food Bank.

New for the 2025 holiday season, the hotel’s ‘Purpose Trees’ will be displayed in the lobbies of Pan Pacific Whistler’s two properties, Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside and Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre, until December 31, 2025.

Guests are encouraged to visit the ‘Purpose Trees’ and donate to the charity or charities closest to their heart and tie a coloured ribbon on the tree. Every decorative ribbon represents a symbol of compassion and spark of hope, and will either help support children with life-threatening illnesses and their families in BC and Yukon, nourish Whistler’s community; or help rehabilitate and care for animals in the Sea to Sky area.

Pan Pacific Whistler is committed to providing heartfelt hospitality and giving back to community near and far. The newly launched ‘Purpose Trees’program builds on 14 years of giving to meaningful causes and builds on the hotel’s charitable programs.

Canuck Place Children’s Hospice is BC and the Yukon’s only pediatric palliative care provider. To date, Pan Pacific Village Centre has donated over $190,000 to the charity since 2011, and invites families with a child in hospice care, or bereaved families, to stay at the Canuck Place Suite. Guests visiting Whistler can book the suite year-round, with 10 percent of revenue donated directly to Canuck Place. All donations made to the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice via the Purpose Trees will be matched by the charity’s match partners, doubling the impact.

Whistler Animals Galore Society (WAG) is dedicated to the wellbeing of homeless cats and dogs and work tirelessly to provide rehabilitation and care to animals in search of permanent homes. Its long-established partnership with Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre has seen a total of over $45,000 donated to date. The hotel donates to the shelter annually with funds generated from the year-round pet stay fee, and its seasonally dedicated Pamper Your Pet Package.

Whistler’s Food Bank, delivered through Whistler Community Services Society, provides an essential service for a range of people based in the Sea to Sky corridor. New this fall, for every Bed & Breakfast Package booked at Pan Pacific Mountainside, $5 per night will be donated directly to the Whistler Food Bank, helping nourish Whistler’s neighbours.

“The holidays are a time for giving, so we are proud to debut our ‘Purpose Trees’program which will raise vital funds for all our charity partners.” said Julie Lanteigne, general manager of Pan Pacific Whistler Hotels. “We are inspired by the amazing work each of our partners do in the community every day near and far, we hope the funds raised will make a meaningful difference. Our community is compassionate, generous and care deeply about others; we hope our ‘Purpose Trees’ will inspire our guests and visitors to dig deep and support our wonderful partner charities this festive season”.

“Canuck Place is grateful for our incredible partnership with Pan Pacific Whistler Village,” said Denise Praill, Chief Executive Officer at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. “As a loyal supporter of the pediatric palliative care provided by Canuck Place across BC and the Yukon, their generously donated funds make such a difference for children and families. The Pan Pacific also makes opportunities for a night away in Whistler and this is really impactful for Canuck Place families facing unimaginable circumstances.”

“The holidays are a really important time for WAG. It’s not only an important fundraising period for us, but also a wonderful time for us to connect with our community”, said Naomi Holliday, Director Operations & Development at Whistler Animals Galore Society. “Pan Pacific have been an amazing supporter of WAG for a long time, and we are so thrilled to be chosen as a beneficiary of Pan Pacific’s Purpose Trees. Thank you to everyone for sharing a little magic with us this holiday season!”
