Oman Air nominated for World Travel Awards

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has been nominated in the ‘Middle East’s Leading Airline’ category of the prestigious World Travel Awards 2010.

The World Travel Awards are voted by travel industry professionals worldwide and Oman Air’s nomination follows a year in which the airline has introduced new airbus A330 aircraft to its fleet, each with spacious and luxurious interiors and state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment.

Oman Air was also the first airline in the world to offer passengers full mobile phone and wi-fi connectivity onboard its widebody aircraft.

Oman Air’s Chief Commercial Officer, Barry Brown, commented: “Oman Air’s nomination in the ‘Middle East’s Leading Airline’ category of the World Travel Awards is a mark of how the airline’s transformation has been so positively received by our customers.”

“We have worked hard to ensure that Oman Air is synonymous with comfort, luxury and the very best that air travel has to offer. We look forward to unveiling further new routes, services and technologies which will add even greater value to the Oman Air travel experience.”

In addition to the introduction of new aircraft, cabins, technologies, menus and uniforms, Oman Air has recently launched a series of great-value promotional packages, the latest of which, branded Now is the Time and bookable through participating travel operators until October 2010, offers seven-night flight and accommodation packages to Oman from just £599.

Barry Brown concludes: “The World Travel Awards are the most respected in the industry, particularly because they are voted for by the people who know the industry best. I would like to thank those people who have nominated Oman Air and those whose votes have yet to be cast. And for those who have yet to experience Oman Air’s service, we look forward to welcoming you soon – we are too good to miss!”
