North Shore Oahu, Hawaii, joins ICTP destination alliance as a founding member

ICTP Chairman Juergen T. Steinmetz said: “With the official launch of our new destination alliance, ICTP, taking place in London on Tuesday at the World Travel Market, we are very pleased to be able to welcome our host town of 11 years as another founding destination member for our organization. This feels to us like a full circle moment.
I hope the entire Northshore community will play a very active part in our organization. This is a chance for the Northshore to become a shining example and leader in Hawaii for international tourism. It’s an opportunity for the Northshore and Hawaii to network on a world stage”

Mr. Steinmetz has personally been a long-time resident of the North Shore community, and explained that tourism is a major part of the area’s economy. He said, “Anyone wanting to get a true feeling of Hawaii’s beautiful nature, world-class surfing, excellent restaurants, and unique shopping - and experience the Aloha spirit – must visit Oahu’s North Shore.”

A leisurely drive of around 35 miles from Waikiki, Haleiwa town on the famous North Shore on the island of Oahu, hosts some of the world’s best surfing. Renowned for its legendary beaches, Haleiwa is a favorite refuge for Hawaii’s residents and a must-see for visitors. Nowhere else on Oahu will you find quaint shops and cafes housed in plantation-era buildings and world-famous surf spots.

The mission of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce is to promote, maintain, and encourage the historic, cultural, civic, and economic welfare of the North Shore through research and education.
