New leadership appointment for bmi regional

bmi regional has appointed Tracey Umfreville to the position of head of human resources.

Based at the carrier’s East Midlands hub, Umfreville has responsibility for all employment relations for the airline’s 400 staff including airport and sales teams, cabin crew and flight deck personnel.

Previously to this appointment she was EMEA human resources manager for the British Standards Institute’s inspection business, the world’s largest certification body. 

Most recently, Umfreville was with RDE Consultancy Services, during which time she acted as a consultant human resources advisor supporting Fendercare, Houlder and parts of the GE Group of Companies, she brings with her over 20 years’ experience of recruitment and resources management.

Cathal O’Connell, chief executive, bmi regional said: “Tracey’s strategic approach to human resources and proven track record of delivering support to all areas of a growing business mean she’s ideal for the role with us.

“We recently marked our first anniversary as an independent airline and launched six new European routes, so we will continue to recruit and train staff as we move the business forward.”
