Murray beats Djokovic to reach Olympics final

Andy Murray has beaten Novak Djokovic to reach the Olympic tennis final on Sunday.

The Brit knocked out the Serbian and world number 2 by 7-5, 7-5 in two hours on Wimbledon’s Centre Court.

This means Murray, who lost his Wimbledon battle last month, will be back on Centre Court to play Roger Federer for Olympic gold on Sunday.

Murray commented: “I just wanted to try and win a medal, for the team, for the country and lastly for myself. I’m so happy, I would love to win the gold medal.”

Thousands of spectators are expected to gather to watch the final play off tomorrow.
