Maharajas Express celebrates early rail holiday success

Maharajas Express celebrates early rail holiday success

The Maharajas Express, launched last year as India’s most luxurious rail holiday idea, has fast become a once-in-a-lifetime India experience.

The UK trade has been integral to the train’s success with UK passengers accounting for around 70 per cent of total bookings.

Maggi Nixon, Maharajas’ Express said: “The support of UK travel industry has been key to the success of the train over the past year.

“It is thanks to this demand that we have been able to extend our offering for the 2011/12 season, adding a brand new journey.”

The Royal Sojourn will be the fourth journey for the Maharajas’ Express – taking in a never before travelled route and experiences through Imperial India from Delhi through Jaipur, Kota, Ranthambore and Agra.

Now offering four very different rail holidays and exciting itineraries, the new season journeys will run from October 2011 through to December 2012.
