We catch up with Maria Diaz, Housekeeping Manager of Gran Hotel Inglés, the jewel in the crown of the luxury boutique portfolio of Hidden Away Hotels in Spain
Which of your hotels use L’OCCITANE en Provence products?
All of Hidden Away Hotels use L’OCCITANE en Provence toiletries. These include Gran Hotel Inglés in Madrid, Seda Club in Granada, Posada Terra Santa in Palma de Mallorca, and Gravina 51 in Seville.
Why did you choose to have L’OCCITANE en Provence products in your rooms?
L’OCCITANE en Provence and its products have a worldwide reputation so it made the choice easy. The clients of Hidden Away Hotels look for a high quality of service in all of our hotels, and that goes for the products too. We love the brand’s zesty and elegant fragrances.
Which ranges do you use?
In the rooms, we use the brand’s Verbena Solids eco-range of toiletries, which is undoubtedly one of the best on the market, and the Aromachology Repairing Shampoo to give extra care to our guests’ hair. We also use the Conditioner and the Relaxing Body Lotion. Additionally, we offer some of the brand’s products on a daily basis in the evening turndown service. When clients enjoy long stays with us, they are lucky enough to try the whole range of complimentary products that we give in the turndown service: refreshing cloths, hand creams, facial creams, and eye patches.
We use Verbena Hand Soap and Hand Lotion in the public areas of the hotels. The fresh and citrusy scent of the products is always popular with clients.
Is it important to you that L’OCCITANE en Provence amenities are eco-friendly and use natural essential oils?
For Hidden Away Hotels, the ethos has always been to take care of our planet. Recycling and reusage is a duty for all of us in society, but above all, for the large chains that generate so much waste. As L’OCCITANE en Provence uses products that are rich in natural ingredients, the brand caught our attention.
Do you support the brand’s use of sustainable packaging and refills?
Of course we do. We have shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion dispensers in every room which are refillable and allow us to waste less product and reduce the amount of plastic by 90%.
Is the guest experience enhanced by using L’OCCITANE en Provence toiletries in your rooms?
Since we started using L’OCCITANE en Provence in 2018, many of our guests staying in our hotels have asked for information about various products in the ranges. Our guests find the brand experience so pleasant in our hotels, that they want to replicate it when they return home.
Have you had good feedback from your guests?
We always receive positive feedback about L’OCCITANE en Provence from our guests. There has never been a negative comment. When a person wants two units instead of one, you know they really love the product.
