Klahoose Wilderness Resort has been recognized as Canada’s Leading Wilderness Resort 2024 by the World Travel Awards (WTA).
Tourism Manager Chris Tait says the award holds special significance as it is voted on by both past guests and travel industry partners.
He says being recognized as Canada’s Leading Wilderness Resort, even after just three seasons, validates their commitment to offering authentic Indigenous tourism.

This year marked the 31st year the WTA handed out the award, in its search for the finest travel and tourism organizations worldwide.
Klahoose Wilderness Resort provides a nature-centric stay with authentic Indigenous-led tours and cultural sharing, earning the votes to be named “Canada’s Leading Wilderness Resort.”

Other notable nominees in the category included Au Diable Vert, Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, Eagle Nook Resort, Great Bear Lodge, Nimmo Bay Resort, Tweedsmuir Park Lodge, and West Coast Wilderness Lodge.

Owned by Klahoose First Nation, tours are primarily led by Klahoose guides who are culturally trained and share legends, stories, language, and songs.

The focus is on eco-adventure tours from May through August and shifts to Grizzly Bear viewing tours from late-August until mid-October.
