Khiri Travel appoints new country manager for Vietnam and Cambodia

Khiri Travel has appointed Mr Terry Gordon as Joint Country Manager for Vietnam and Cambodia, effective immediately. He will be based in the Khiri Vietnam office in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr Gordon, an Australian national, is a former Royal Australian Air Force officer with a strong track record in human resource, logistics, recruitment and financial administration. Before joining Khiri he worked as an HR Operations Manager for the Supreme Group in Afghanistan and Dubai.

Mr Gordon has extensive Indochina travel industry experience. He was a tour leader and operations manager for Travel Indochina 2006-2009. Prior to that, he was an Indochina tour leader for Intrepid Travel. He has intimate first-hand experience of established and emerging destinations throughout Indochina and Thailand.

“Terry brings to Khiri a highly sought-after mix of first-hand tourism management experience in Indochina plus 14 years of training the Royal Australian Air Force,” said Willem Niemeijer, CEO and co-founder of the Khiri Travel Group.

Niemeijer said that Vietnam, with its recent track record of political stability, was playing an increasingly important role in the regional tourism picture.

“Ho Chi Minh City is increasingly becoming a new aviation hub and gateway for all of Indochina. We see more longhaul traffic coming straight to Vietnam and then branching out from there into Cambodia and Laos. With Terry in charge, Khiri Vietnam and Cambodia will be well placed to meet these new B2B client needs.”
