Japan Airlines (JAL) will extend the period of round-trip flight frequency reductions on routes from Osaka (Kansai) and Nagoya (Chubu) to Bangkok until July 15, 2010.

The antigovernment demonstrations in Bangkok in April this year have led to sharp declines in passenger bookings to the South East Asian city. In swift response to the dip in traffic-figures, JAL temporarily reduced the number of weekly flights on these routes for the month of June (June 1 and June 30, 2010). As leisure passenger demand has been slow to recover with continued concern about the stability of the situation, JAL has decided to extend the period of temporary flight reduction for an additional 15 days to the middle of July.

JAL anticipates recovery in demand during the upcoming summer holiday season and plans to reinstate from July 16, the once-daily flights connecting Osaka and Nagoya with Bangkok.

JAL seeks the kind understanding of passengers who may be inconvenienced by this change.
