inzumi launches free travel guide app for iPhone

The internet portal inzumi.com has started to offer holidaymakers and globetrotters new personal travel guides with a new online app.

The app contains “exactly” the kind of information that is of interest to the traveller.

So far, the individual travel guides could only be printed out as a PDF or ordered as a book. The free inzumi app now offers the possibility to use the travel guides also on mobile devices: iPhone or iPod touch users now have the chance to download any number of guides to their library.

The information is then available offline and everywhere – all without additional roaming charges.

And this is how the inzumi service works: On inzumi.com users can choose their favourite destinations from more than 200 travel destinations worldwide and create their own personal travel guide.

They have the choice between more than 20,000 travel tips, researched and written by editorial staff, can add a personal cover photo and, if they wish, a personal dedication.

A preview gives them a first impression of their travel guide – for registered users, the travel guides that have been downloaded are then accessible in the inzumi iPhone library anytime.

“We want to make life easier for people who love to travel”, says Enrico Just, chief executive of inzumi.com.

“Individual pieces of information that are combined and compiled by the users themselves are a perfect guidance at their holiday destination – after all, there is no redundant information, which may lead to confusion.

“The iPhone app makes our service even more comprehensive because with the inzumi app, personalized travel guides can also be used mobile – and our users can store as many guides as they like on their device.”

The inzumi app runs on iPhone (from 3G) or iPod touch devices that use the operating system iOS 4 or later versions.
