iCruise.com launches Cruise Finder Android app

iCruise.com®, a leading national travel retailer, announced that its popular Cruise Finder mobile app is now available on smart phones using Android technology. The free download will give Android users access to detailed information about hundreds of cruise ships and thousands of cruise itineraries.

Following the success of the Cruise Finder iPhone App last July, the Cruise Finder™ Android App provides a simple interface allowing users to quickly and intuitively search the extensive cruise database created by iCruise.com®.  With multiple search options, users can find a cruise by destination, departure date, departure port, ship, or cruise line.

In addition to the comprehensive search tools, Cruise Finder users can browse information about 20 different cruise lines, 200 ships and 12,000 itineraries.  They can view cabin photos and descriptions, as well as deck plans. A unique Cruise Calendar provides an overview of where worldwide cruise fleets are sailing.

According to iCruise.com® co-president Uf Tukel, “Ever since we launched our iPhone app last year, our clients have been asking for an Android version.  Almost half of our mobile smart phone traffic is coming from Android devices, and it is important we accommodate this growing segment of our client base. “

Tukel adds, “More and more vacation discussion and planning is occurring away from the personal computer.  We built a visually appealing app that harnesses the content and features of our websites.  In this way, we can quickly and concisely communicate the value and benefits of a cruise to the mobile user.”

The Cruise Finder app also appeals to guests who are already booked on a cruise with port driving directions, pier parking data, updated port weather conditions, cruise news and a cruise countdown clock. Users can save their favorite ships and itineraries; share information with friends and family via email, Facebook or Twitter; and easily request a quote for any departure via email or by a direct “connect me” button to the iCruise.com® reservation center.

Tukel states, “The success of our app confirms that mobile technology is a new channel for us to introduce cruising to folks who never thought they’d consider it.  iCruise.com® will continue to add new features including online booking to ensure that it remains one of the most complete and user-friendly mobile apps in the travel sector.”

The Cruise Finder Android app is free and can be downloaded in the Android Market. Visit www.iCruise.com/mobileapps for more information.  All users who sign up for the iCruise® Newsletter will receive a voucher which can be applied to a new cruise booking with iCruise®.
